Celebrity chef, Lisa Garza, hosted an exclusive soiree tonight to debut her vintage inspired apron collection, Couture Caviar, at Neiman Marcus Northpark.
The apron collection will be on display for sale in Gift Galleries, Level Three for the next 2 weeks. Well what's left of it anyway, because those aprons were flying off the rack like shoes at a going-out-of-business sale!
“Couture Caviar is inspired by my vintage collection dating back to the 1800’s.” says Garza. “My first apron was made for me by my Dutch great-grandmother, embellished with her own handmade lace. Cotton is for cooking, cocktail aprons are for hosting in style.”
Always the consummate hostess, Lisa spent as much time planning what we would eat as what we would see when we got there. She's my kind of gal... Guests noshed on smoked salmon profiteroles, curry deviled eggs with Tobiko caviar, mushroom duxelles, truffle tarts, and French macaroons. A custom libation of green tea tipsy Arnold Palmers were also on hand.
Since Lisa’s stint on “The Next Food Network Star” in 2008 she has created a brand of her own, Lisa Garza Taste Studio, at South Side on Lamar where she entertains, hosts parties, holds meetings and runs her business. She is the preferred chef for clients such as Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta, Escada, Nordstrom, Puma and Northpark. Now she can add designer to the her ever-growing list of accomplishments.
So, what's next for this sassy powerhouse? Word has it Lisa is thiiiiiiiiiiiis close to signing a lease for a new restaurant. More to come on that in a future post...
