Westin Galleria takes on the Staycation with new weekend program

If you're like me, it's difficult to find the time to take an extended vacation. Between work commitments and the kids schedules, it's almost impossible to find the time to get away.  For your mental well-being, it is important to disconnect, even if it's just overnight or a long-weekend.

I am big fan of the "staycation". These are short stays at a local resort, bed and breakfast or hotel where you can sneak away for a 24 to 48 hour power retreat. I recently  enjoyed such a retreat at the Westin Galleria Dallas.

They are tackling the Monday blues head-on with the introduction of a new, dedicated weekend program that gives guests more flexibility and time to make the most out of their weekend getaway. The Westin Galleria Dallas invites guests to personalize their weekend experience with 3 p.m. Sunday check-out, extended breakfast hours* all weekend and more. To set the stage for the new program, The Westin Galleria Dallas will signal the weekend has arrived through a variety of subtle sensory cues including changes in lighting, music and décor.

Each guestroom will feature the brand’s signature Heavenly bathrobe placed on the bed accompanied by a cocktail recipe card and a list of favorite Dallas attractions to officially welcome guests to their weekend, including: shopping and ice skating in the Galleria Dallas, enjoying a facial at the Spa at Nordstrom, dining at The Second Floor Bistro-Bar or numerous one-of-a-kind nearby restaurants and winding down poolside in a cabana.

I highly recommend upgrading to a room on the Executive Level which will give you access to the 21st floor Westin Executive Club Lounge, an ideal space in which to decompress with upgraded services such as complimentary breakfast, a business center including complimentary Wi-Fi and printing, evening beverages including wine and beer and hors d'oeuvres, and access to a dedicated, private concierge staff during breakfast and dinner hours.

“Guests come to our hotel seeking a retreat from the rigors of travel and work, and Westin Weekends allows us to improve the guest experience by making their stay more personalized, relaxed and rejuvenating,” said John Everett, general manager of The Westin Galleria Dallas. “Our goal is to provide guests with everything they need to feel relaxed and at home, and these enhanced features make that possible.”

Rooms start at $196. For more information on The Westin Galleria Dallas, please visit www.thewestingalleriadallas.com

*Breakfast service is now extended until 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
