I was so happy to get a call out-of-the-blue from my friend, Monica Greene. She moved to Aspen, CO. a year or so back and I don't think I've seen her since. She was in town and asked me to hook up with her for lunch.Monica is a famous (or should I say infamous) chef about town and owns one of my favorite restaurants, Monica's Aca Y Alla.
She now has a wonderful vegetarian cafe in Aspen called Explore Bistro. She reports that Aspen is beautiful and serene, but she misses the fast pace of city life. Will she stay or will she go? Only time will tell.
I love having friends who live in exotic places. It makes my vacation decisions so much easier when you have a free place to stay... but I would much rather have her come home. The Dallas restaurant scene needs this hot tamale!
