This is how funny life is. Just this week, I cleaned out our game room and collected a huge trash bag full of old sports equipment my son isn't using anymore. I've had it sitting in my laundry room and I wasn't quite sure what to do with all of the stuff. Today I get this press release in my in-box:
"With Super Bowl right around the corner, Febreze, the “Official Air Freshener of the NFL,” and the Dallas Forth-Worth Salvation Army have teamed up to host the first-ever Febreze Game Day Freshness Sports Equipment Drive, collecting new and gently used sports equipment and athletic gear at NFL Experience.
From January 27-30, 2011 and February 2-6, 2011, families are encouraged to drop off new and gently used sports equipment and gear at the Febreze Game Day Freshness tour bus station. Each donation will receive adiscount coupon to be used at the on-site NFL Shop at the NFL Experience and a Febreze To Go Fabric Refresher sample."
At first, I thought, "Febreze? What do they have to do with the Super Bowl and sports?" Then I read this:
"The Febreze drive is a result of a sponsorship between Procter & Gamble and the NFL. The Febreze family of products has always been well-known for providing fresh, clean scents and eliminating odors from fabrics and the air, and now has tackled tough odors in NFL locker rooms across the country."
Well, that makes total sense because I know how stinky my son's sports bag is. I have already heard so many of my friends say they are planning on taking their kids to the NFL Experience. So, take a moment, clean out your closets and game rooms before you go, and make a donation for this great cause. You know you're going to buy something at the NFL Shop on-site. By donating, you'll get a discount coupon - so it's a win-win!
