Looking for a unique showstopper for the cool chick in your life who has that certain Western boho vibe? Then look no further than
The Gypsy Wagon strives to carry gifts and home items that are handmade, that are produced with recycled or sustainable materials, and that are made by people and companies who care. Owners, Johnny and Carley Seale, are an adorable married couple with one young son and a baby on the way. When I visited the store last weekend, there was Carley, down on the floor (pregnant and all!) helping a customer pick out the perfect pair of Cowboy boots. Fashion Group International of Dallas just recognized Gypsy Wagon with a Rising Star Award for Retail and I can't think of a better example of an independent retailer for this holiday post series.
(top) Bottle Freakers ($12) look like cut off socks that serve as koozies | Mexicana Clutch ($148) or Wallet ($128) (bottom) sparkly beaded bracelets from Nepal look amazing when stacked ($14 ea.) | Initial Necklace shaped like a heart or star ($68)
D Magazine says of the place, "The Gypsy Wagon, which recently expanded into bigger digs, is a quirky clothing and gift shop in the heart of the trendy Henderson area. Find a wall of cowgirl (and cowboy) boots, racks of boho-chic dresses, locally designed jewelry, antique-inspired home furnishings, flea market finds, and enough knick-knacks, tucked in the store’s cozy nooks and crannies, to please any tchotchke collector. Owner, Carley Seale, keeps the boutique stocked with a mix of vintage and new to keep homes “functional and fun, not serious and stuffy.” Check out the collection of handbags, kids wear, and greeting cards, too." Yep, that about sums it up.
