Vogel Alcove celebrates its 25th anniversary with the Ambassadors of Hope Awards Luncheon honoring community leaders for years of dedicated service to homeless children. The guest speaker will be Chris Gardner, who was made famous for his inspirational story of overcoming family homelessness. Longtime Vogel Alcove supporter Ebby Halliday is the honorary chair of the luncheon on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 11:00am at the Ritz Carlton, Dallas.

The Ambassadors of Hope Awards will be awarded to members of our community for their service to the homeless children of Vogel Alcove. After the awards, Chris Gardner will take the stage.

Gardner as published his autobiography, The Pursuit of Happyness, out of a desire to shed light on these universal issues and show they do not have to define you. The book became a New York Times bestseller and later inspired the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. Will Smith starred as Gardner and received Academy Award, Golden Globe and Screen Actor Guild nominations for his performance.

Chairs of the luncheon event are Dawn Budner and Tina Wasserman. Committee members include Regina Bruce, Sheila Chapman, Deborah Gilbert and Julie Vicic.

For those of you not familiar with Vogel Alcove, they provide daycare for homeless children age 6 weeks to 6 years. They work hand-in-hand with many other agencies who provide education and assistance to the parents of these kids. So, while they are getting the counseling they need or taking classes to get back on their feet, Vogel is providing their small children an safe, happy and educational environment. It's one of the most amazing charities. The kids are a delight and I LOVE supporting this organization.

Tickets to the October 24 event go on sale August 27, 2012.  Table sponsorships are $5,000, $2,500 and $1,500. Single tickets are $125. You can purchase tickets at www.vogelalcove.org/luncheon or call 214.368.8686.
