However, I am a very patriotic Texan and if there's a competition of any sort - Texas needs to win. Which is why I am even mentioning the fact that this year's Miss America pageant will take place on Saturday, January 12 on ABC. This year's Miss Texas representative is DaNae Couch and her talent is twirling.

The judges will vote for their favorites but there is an online voting component to this year's contest. The contestant with the most votes will automatically advance to the finals. Now, Texas is one of the largest states, so it seems like DaNae should be a front-runner for this thing.
You don't even have to watch the stupid pageant. Just click on http://www.missamerica.org/videocontest/ and vote for Miss Texas. I already did. Because I don't care how dumb this pageant is, we CANNOT let Miss Oklahoma win.
UPDATE (Jan. 13, 2013) Apparently the judges agreed with me that twirling is a stupid talent because Miss New York won. And her talent was tap-dancing. So there.
