The play, DR. SEUSS’S THE CAT IN THE HAT, was adapted for the stage in 2009 by the prestigious National Theatre of Great Britain and DCT closely followed its success there. “We are always on the look-out for the newest and most wonderful plays for our audiences,” says DCT’s leader, Robyn Flatt. “We grabbed this as soon as it was available. It’s the perfect kick-off to our very special birthday season.”
For the month of September, a giant Cat in the Hat will be perched on the roof of the Rosewood Center to greet eager patrons in the parking lot and garden, and inside the lobby and gallery, guests will find a host of Seussian decorations, photo opportunities and inspirational quotes by the author.
Immediately following every performance there will be a lively and interactive discussion and demonstration called, “Cat in the Hat - How’d We Do That?” Some lucky patrons will even get the chance to go up on stage and experience what it takes to create magical moments from the show! And not to be forgotten, DCT’s autographs tradition continues in the lobby for children excited to meet the actors after the show.
