Photos c/o Clark Cabus Photography The Lee Park Junior Conservancy hosted the Day at the Races Announcement Party at the Pohlenz-Valucine Dallas showroom on February 18, 2016. This year’s Day at the Races will be held on May 7, 2016. Recently named one of the best spring events for Dallasites, the event will feature Southern inspired cuisine, live music, dancing, Kentucky derby viewing, amazing auction items, and more. Day at the Races Co-Chairs Wendy Messmann and Kirsten Williams announced this year’s Honorary Chair, Doris Jacobs. Gay Donnell, President & CEO of the Lee Park and Arlington Hall Conservancy, thanked the crowd for supporting the Conservancy’s mission and drew the names of two lucky ticket winners to this year’s event. Mixologists from Four Roses Bourbon were on hand to show guests a few spins on the famous Derby Mint Julep and other classic whiskey cocktails. Other refreshments included old world wines from Askari OH, local craft beers from Texas Ale Project, and delicious bites from Whole Foods. Guests got a preview of the entertainment that will be at Day at the Races with live music from Jordan Kahn of the Jordan Kahn Music Company. The space was enhanced with lighting by Events Moderne. Newly joined member Beth Nowak and current member Bill Saunders had their luck strike early as winners of tickets to the Day at the Races on May 7, 2016.
