I've said many times that when I win the lottery, the first thing I am splurging on is a personal chef so I never have to think about "what's for dinner?" again! Until that glorious day arrives, thank goodness for forward-thinkers like my friend, Tiffany Derry. The Top Chef All-Star is a working Mom herself, so she has a keen understanding of what diners are looking for and need. Derry's latest offering, The Cupboard, Grab ‘N Go By Tiffany Derry, seeks to change the fast casual market showcasing the master chef’s take on soups, salads, sandwiches, and prepared meals. The first location is currently housed in the food hall in Uptown Urban Market at 2600 Cedar Springs Road and Routh St. “When I, along with my partner, Tom Foley, started thinking about our first entry into the Dallas market, we recognized the opportunity to elevate the simple offerings, such as soups and salads,” said Tiffany Derry. “It has always been important for me to become a part of the community and offer our guests fresh, locally sourced food. It’s exciting to launch this concept and continually challenge our team to introduce new offerings to our Cupboard.”
The seasonally driven menu is designed to accommodate a variety of occasions, from swift business lunches with colleagues to enjoying a leisurely meal with family and friends or taking the prepared meal home for the casual date-night. The menu offers a variety of options for every lifestyle, from pescatarian to vegetarian and vegan to meat eater, plus a rotating list of chef specials. The menu includes the Mediterranean Salad, Quinoa Salad, Tomato Basil Soup, Fresh Turkey Baguette or Roast Beef Wrap. The daily specials range from Smoked Salmon Cake to Beet Tips with Mashed Potato, just to name two. To complement The Cupboard, Tiffany partnered with Yama Restaurants to include sushi and Poke options. From Ahi Poke to Yama’s well-know 5 Treasure Roll, Yama’s fresh offerings complement the theme of The Cupboard. In addition to the soups, salads, sandwiches, and sushi offerings of The Cupboard, Uptown Urban Market features a full-service bar with an extensive selection of cocktails, beers and fine wines.
The Uptown Urban Market also houses other selected vendors with a range of offerings, from pizza to sliders to dessert. In addition to an indoor "Zen seating area", the venue also offers diners a large outdoor patio that will be a vibrant destination on the beautiful Dallas spring, summer, and fall days.
